The Great Gatsby (2013) | dir. Baz Luhrmann
Leonardo DiCaprio | Tobey Maguire | Carey Mulligan | Joel Edgerton
I’ve heard some haters out there, but I absolutely adored it. There were a few weak points I could see people griping about, but I thought it was all a job well done. And also, to my baby Leo DiCaprio — you never fail me, old sport.
I recognize this movie isn’t very good, and it’s a little cheesy — but I really like it. The sentiment is sweet.
And I have a crush on Steve Sandvoss/his character in this x10000.
La mala educación (2004, España) | dir. Pedro Almodóvar
Chico y Rita (2010) | (España/Reino Unido, Cuba) dir. Fernando Trueba y Javier Mariscal
Cabin In The Woods (2012) | dir. Drew Goddard

I don’t think I’ve ever found Tom Cruise sexier than when he was in Far and Away.
there’s that scene where you can see his cute sexy pale bum

Stoker (2013) | dir. Park Chan-wook
Mia Wasikowska, Matthew Goode, Nicole Kidman
Saw this tonight at the Century Centre with my buddy Adam. It was really interesting. And twisted (expected, considering the director). But I really enjoyed it. And the soundtrack was pretty great.
Also, is it horrible that I couldn’t help but be incredibly attracted to Matthew Goode throughout the entire film, considering his character?
But damn, that man.
finally watched Silver Linings Playbook — solid film, but having a hard time understanding all the hype it’s gotten…maybe I need to re-watch it further down the line and have another go at it. But it seemed like a smarter, perhaps more invested and serious, but ultimately fairly standard romantic comedy/drama. Any thoughts?

The Loneliest Planet (2011) | dir. Julia Loktev
This was not nearly as interesting as I thought it would be. Severely lacking in actual dialogue, especially when the theme and central conflict in the movie is all based on a single moment; which honestly isn’t that insanely pivotal to merit the intensity. I really like Gael García Bernal, which is mainly the reason for watching it…but it was just a little too bland throughout.
